Your files stay on this device: processing (conversion, cropping, compression, extraction) runs in your browser, nothing is hosted on our side. One exception: transcription sends the audio to a secure third-party service that deletes it right away.
A kept media item is stored in the browser (IndexedDB): private browsing or a browser cleanup erases it. Export what matters.
- The local processing engine weighs about 10 MB, downloaded once on first use — the weight is announced on the button before the gesture.
- Since the compressor merged into the workshop, compression, MP4 conversion and cropping first use the device’s video circuits (WebCodecs): file weight stops being a limit, only duration is (10 minutes per video). When the browser doesn’t offer them — or for WebM and audio extraction — the local engine takes over, up to 100 MB, the whole file passing through memory.
- Converting to MP4 from a format already in H.264 (or HEVC/AV1) COPIES the streams: neither image nor sound is re-encoded, no loss. Other conversions (WebM, or MP4 from a codec the container can’t carry) re-encode the video.
- Cropping to a format (9:16, 1:1…), on an image as on a video, is CENTERED: it follows neither a face nor a subject. Check the result before publishing.
- Placing a logo burns it permanently into the file. On a video, the image is re-encoded at its original resolution at a high bitrate — the sound is kept as is, without re-encoding. A logo’s background is only made transparent if it is SOLID (white, a flat fill); to cut a subject out of a photo, the Background remover is there for that. Removing the background of a whole VIDEO (frame by frame) is not offered: it would take too long on a phone, and the screen prefers not to promise it.
- WebM (VP9) conversion is tuned to finish in a browser: it favors speed over compression ratio.
- Transcription accepts about one hour of audio (the audio is reduced to 4 MB before sending); it never attributes words to speakers — no honest way to tell them apart exists here.
- AI analysis (summary, themes, structure) requires an API key that is not yet set: the panel says so and returns no score while it is missing. No result is ever invented.

- Yes — the MP3 track is extracted on your device, without any upload.
Can I get subtitles for my video?
- Yes: transcription produces text you can search, then export as TXT, SRT or VTT subtitles. This step uses a secure third-party service that deletes the audio immediately.
